Daniel Klinkhamer of Northville, Scott Nelson of Howell, and Anita Lamour of South Lyon, took top honors at Kensington Metropark’s first Canoe and Kayak Race on  July 31. The winners of the 7.5-mile contest each won a $50 REI gift certificate.
 
The event was sponsored by Kensington Metropark, Heavner Canoe Rental and REI, and hosted 18 racers in 16 boats. Racers and their boats competed in experienced paddlers/long boat or novice/short boat categories.
