Meadowbrook Church hosts Kids Against Hunger
Nearly 100 church members, friends and community volunteers assembled and packed 10,000 meals on March 25 at Meadowbrook Congregational Church as part of Kids Against Hunger’s efforts to support local and global hunger relief.
Both children and adults gathered to assemble ingredients (a combination of rice, soy and vegetables), weigh, seal and box food packets. Local distribution was designated to Northville Civic Concern, which currently is facing a dire shortage of food donations. Other distribution will be to global areas in crisis.
Meadowbrook Congregational Church provided volunteers with a soup lunch immediately following the packing. Partnering with Kids Against Hunger for the event was Bridgepointe, a non-profit charitable organization that promotes city and suburban partnerships in the Detroit area.
