- From a press release
Northville takes Halloween seriously and the town is getting ready to welcome 45 boney friends who will inhabit the downtown for the month of October. The skeletons are alive in downtown Northville Oct. 5-31. The annual outdoor public art displays featuring life-sized skeletons decked out in different costumes – created by Begonia Brothers of Northville – will once again transform downtown Northville into a Halloween Boneyard … and it is a sight to see. Residents and friends of Northville can help welcome the boney guests to the downtown during a celebration in Town Square (across from the Marquis Theatre on Main Street). The evening will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony, 50 dancers from the Piazza Dance Company performing the iconic zombie Thriller dance and performances from Unusual Symphony and Social Bones The party will also feature street-side food carts from a few favorite Northville eateries, including Paramenters, and Pizza Cutters. The schedule for the spooktacular evening is:

Known as a big Halloween town already, downtown Northville’s annual Halloween public art displays extend the celebration into the commercial areas and create a fun Halloween atmosphere for visitors as they stroll through town. Among last year’s skeletons who visited the downtown were a rock star, construction worker, weightlifter, and a fisherman. One skeleton even got on bended knee and proposed to his sweetheart while another skeleton couple danced.
Northville’s popular First Friday Experience will also be taking place from 6-9 p.m. and guests are invited to visit the galleries and participating shops throughout town and enjoy their planned activities.
The Skeletons will remain in downtown Northville through Halloween (October 31) and residents and friends are welcome to visit them throughout the month.
