NORTHVILLE VARSITY SWIM AND DIVE TEAM TO HONOR SENIORS

On Thursday, The NHS Swim and Dive team will honor their senior teammates as they compete in their last regular season home dual meet at the Northville High School Pool against division rivals , South Lyon East High School.

This team has enjoyed  plenty of success during their years at NHS under the  direction of Head Swim Coach Rich Bennetts, assistant coaches Bob Holdridge and Brad Farris and diving coach Dayna Azzopardi. The team has again clinched the KLAA Central Division Championship title for the third year in a row, and will start preparing for the Conference Meet.  It is no secret that when the KLAA was formed, the Division and conference that Northville landed would be loaded with some of the best talent in the State for all sports. The NHS Swim and Dive team has set their goals high again this year. Northville has taken 1st place in the Conference for the past two seasons, since the formation of highly competitive KLLA conference. 

Along with these seniors, the team has many accomplished under classman that share in the success in this team.  While there is much season left, the seniors have started preparing for their future beyond NHS . Outside of the pool, this team has excelled in the classroom. Plans for next year include;

 Josh DuFresne , Robert Morris University in Chicago / accounting and business management

Aaron Zalewski(Captain),  Michigan State University, Grand Valley State, or the University of Michigan / nursing

Greg Putman (Captain),  Michigan Technological University or Central Michigan University / Environmental Engineering. 

Dawson Laabs (Captain),   Michigan State University or Colorado State University / Business, 

Adam Curry , Michigan State University / Pre-Dentistry

Spencer Miller,  Cornell University /biology ,pre-med

Chris Kim,  University of Michigan Dearborn /computer sciences’

Filippo Miavaldi,  will continue education in Italy

Spencer Koblinski,  Michigan State University / engineering environmental sciences

Phillip Bondy, Michigan Institute of Aviation Technology 

Matthew Smelt,  Michigan State University or Bowling Green State University / economics

Mike Miller,  University of Study undecided

Alec Latta, Michigan State University,  University of Wisconsin / journalism , criminal justice.

Although the teammates will head in many different directions, they  all agree that they have made great friendships through swimming at NHS and all have developed a tremendous respect for their coach and the discipline required for this sport!
