5 Things You Should Know Today: March 11

From events to gas prices to the weather, we've gathered a list of information that is important to Northville today.

 
  1. Northville weather:  Snow is likely before 4 p.m. with less than one inch of accumulation expected and a high temperature near 39 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. It's also expected to be breezy, with some gusts as high as 32 mph. On Friday night, there is a 20 percent chance of snow after 4 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy skies are expected with a low around 29 degrees.
  2. The lowest reported gas price in the Northville area – as of early Friday morning, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com – is $3.56 per gallon at the Mobil station near Eight Mile and Taft roads.
  3. The Northville Community Senior Center has co-ed open volleyball today from 10 a.m. until noon for adults 50 or better.
  4. The Bee's Knees on Main Street will have a ladies night special at the studio. Bring some friends, food and wine and create some art. Cost for studio time is $8 and pottery prices vary.
  5. There's interesting stories in surrounding Patches too. Today, the Canton Patch has a story about its district's possible $17 million budget shortfall.
