Welcome to Northville Patch: Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Here's a look at what you can expect from Northville Patch and your local editor.

If you're ever wondering what's going on in town over the weekend, check Northville Patch. Need scores to the Northville High School football game? Check Northville Patch.

Exactly what is Northville Patch?

We're a community-based news site here to update you daily on what's happening in Northville and Northville Township. We're interested in covering the people, places and events that affect your daily life.

The stories you see here matter to me not just as a reporter but as someone who lives and pays taxes in Northville. The stories you see here today – ranging from events coverage to business to sports to city and township government – are updated daily by our team of professional journalists.

Check out these site attractions:

  • By creating a Patch account, you can comment on our stories, photos and videos. You can also add your own content to the site and interact with other people in Northville.
  • For a community with so many independent business owners, it is only fitting that we highlight these businesses regularly. Reporter Liz Marabeas will profile a different business weekly within the township and city. She'll explore its ties to the community and tell its story.
  • A full list of Northville area events await you in the calendar section of our site. You can even add your own!
  • Our Q & A section allows you to engage other users in the area by asking questions that anyone can answer.
  • City councilwoman and Northville historian Michele Fecht writes a regular column exploring the city's rich past.
  • You can always upload your own videos and photos to supplement a story, announcement or event.
  • Weekly police blotter to update you on what you need to know about safety in Northville.

There's a lot of things I appreciate about Northville. I enjoy the many high-quality restaurants, lively art scene, away-from-the-big-city outdoorsy feel, and strong sense of community.

You might see me around, whether I'm reporting on a story or just chugging much needed caffeine at Solid Grounds or Stone House Coffee and Tea.  Feel free to stop and say hi. I'd love to meet you and chat about Northville. Who knows? Maybe you've got a great idea for a story, or know of someone who's achieved something worth highlighting or have a question about your city that you'd like Patch to answer.

Really, this is your site; your input matters.

Thanks for checking out Northville Patch. I hope you like what you see, and if you don't, you can always send me a suggestion at nancy.kelsey@patch.com. You can also follow us on Twitter, @NorthvillePatch, and like our Facebook page. Phone calls are welcome too at 248-686-4958.
