Children's Marketplace to Begin at Northville Square in October
Tracey Wormsbacher of Hearts of Inspiration in Northville is organizing the event to be held weekly on Tuesdays.
A new marketplace for moms and children of all ages is coming to Northville beginning on Oct. 2.
The Children's Marketplace will include vendors and entertainment from throughout the Detroit area on Tuesdays at Northville Square. Some highlights include vendors from mommy and me yoga classes, a kids obstacle course, a candy garden with candy bouquets and various performers. And while planning by Tracey Wormsbacher of Hearts of Inspiration is still underway, she has hopes of making the event larger and one of a kind in the area.
The first marketplace will be held on Oct. 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free.
"I would love to have this place packed and have lots of moms in here," Wormsbacher said. "What I am trying to do is show that the community of downtown Northville is family-friendly."
The success of many children's events in the downtown area, such as the summer Tunes on Tuesday, demonstrate Northville's ability to draw families, she said. Wormsbacher hopes to bring that fun indoors.
Wormsbacher said that in addition to various vendors on the top floor of Northville Square, she would like the marketplace to include an area for stroller parking, a spot for hands-on children's play and a place for food vendors.
Another area will highlight various types of entertainment. Wormsbacher said she hopes to get a variety of children's performers at Northville Square that are educational and entertaining.
Vendors interested in participating in the event can contact Wormsbacher at Hearts of Inspiration.

Sounds very cute. It would be nice to do something like this on Saturdays occasionally as well for the working moms in the area.

Kelly, that is a great idea! I will look into that.
Thanks for the input.
