Crime Report: Motorcycle Stolen, Bicycles Stolen From Charity Sale
The following information was supplied by the City of Northville Police Department and Northville Township's Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Motorcycle reported stolen
A Farmington man reported that his blue Harley Davidson motorcycle was stolen on May 19. It was parked on the 18000 block of Northville Road in the evening when he left, according to Northville Township police reports.
When he returned the following morning, it was gone.
Woman accused of shoplifting, arrested
A 20 year-old Detroit woman was arrested on May 19 after Meijer store security said they saw her conceal items in a bag and leave the store without paying for them.
According to township police reports, the woman had a bag in the cart where her 2-year-old son was sitting. She put items in the cart, went to the hardware department and hid them in the bag.
When she went to check out, she paid for a few items in her cart but not others, according to the report. She was stopped by store security and arrested by Northville Township police.
She had outstanding warrants for her arrest on charges of shoplifting. Police also learned she had an injunctive order in place from the Warren Police Department indicating she was to have no contact with Meijer stores. She was cited for larceny and trespassing. She is due to appear in the 35th District Court in June.
Man accused of trespassing, arrested on warrant
On May 20, Northville Township police found men trespassing on the Seven Mile property, the former psychiatric hospital. According to township police reports, they said they were trying to cut over from Six Mile to Seven Mile Road.
One man had an outstanding warrant due to a parole violation. He was arrested.
Bicycles reported stolen from charity event
During a charity garage sale on May 15, two bicycles were reported stolen.
Items for the sale on the 200 block of High Street were kept under tarps to be sold but the bicycles were not. A city police officer recalled seeing them in the morning on the way to work. In the afternoon, they were gone.
Counterfeit $1 bill used at Northville Downs
Employees at Northville Downs noticed a $1 counterfeit bill was used on May 19 and was used at the Keeno window, according to city police reports. The bill was confiscated and turned over to a U.S. Secret Service Agent.
Lights reported broken
A resident of the Pheasant Hills subdivision reported to police that six glass portions of street lights had been broken sometime between May 19 and May 21. Two lights had been broken and replace the month before.
A woman on the 1000 block of Bristol Court reported to city police that her car way keyed from the front to the rear. The woman said she did not suspect that her neighbors did it and had no idea who was responsible for the damage.
