Full-Service Dermatology Practice Opens in Downtown Northville
Abbasi Dermatology celebrated its grand opening Tuesday night.
After owning his own dermatology practice in Brownstown for the past five years, Dr. Sami Abbasi is happy to open a second location in his hometown of Northville.
Abbasi Dermatology had its grand opening at 133 W. Main Street, Suite 251 on the upper level of Northville Square on Tuesday night.
The practice offers offers a variety of treatments in a professional but tranquil atmosphere.
"We didn't want it to have a medical office feel, we wanted more of a spa-like feel," Abbasi said. "But people can still feel comfortable coming in because they can expect a professional atmosphere with a board-certified physician."
He said many of his friends and neighbors asked him to open an office closer than the one Downriver, and he landed on this office space in Northville.
Abbasi specializes in a number of skincare concerns including acne, skin cancers, fine lines and wrinkles, photo-damaged skin, sun-damage, moles, rashes, eczema, rosacea and dry skin. The practice offers everything from botox to laser hair removal.
Ironically, the office space was formally used as a tanning salon.
"Hopefully we can undo some of the damage that was done here," Abbasi said with a laugh.
Abbasi has been living in Northville wih his wife, Nadia, and their three children for the past six years. He is a dual board-certified dermatologist and has his bachelor's from the University of Michigan and his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Michigan State University.
His wife, who also works part-time across the practice at Body Fit, helps out at the practice, and Abbasi also has two other staff members to give treatments.
