Garage Grill & Fuel Bar Opens for Business
The restaurant officially opened on Tuesday in downtown Northville.
The highly-anticipated Garage Grill & Fuel Bar is now open in downtown Northville.
Currently, the restaurant is only open for dinner daily at 5 p.m. The partners expect to open for lunch by early December.
"We want this to be a neighborhood restaurant, not just a place you come for special events," said Michael Bageris, one of the restaurant partners.
Located on the corner of Main and Wing streets, the restaurant can accommodate up to 75 people in its dining room, another 40 in the bar, 55 outdoor on the patio and up to 80 people for special events in its banquet room.
Garage offers a full bar and an American menu with pasta, steaks, seafood, burgers and salads. The restaurant also has a big pizza oven, which can cook pizzas quickly at 1100 degrees. Menus will soon be available to browse online.
The restaurant gets its name from the building's historic use as a gas station. It was first built in the 1940s as an Atchinson Gulf service station. Throughout the years, the building has been used as another gas station, a car dealership, a dry cleaner and a garden shop. The partners did a full renovation of the building, which they began in February.
The restaurant reflects its roots with a mural of the original gas station, decorative gas pumps in the dining area, photos of garage scenes, and other vintage decorations.
With its own entrance and lobby, the Garage's banquet room is equipped with a 120-inch projection TV. The room offers a view into "Jack's Garage," which showcases a vintage 1930s Ford Model A car.
Bageris said the restaurant hosted its first banquet on the Friday after Thanksgiving and that they already have 30 more reservations booked. The area can be used for events such as rehearsal dinners, showers and anniversaries.
Check back with Patch next week for a full interview with the restaurant partners.

Looks good.
I think the words "oven" and "pizza" are transposed in this sentence: "The restaurant also has a big oven pizza, which can cook pizzas..."

Looks like a great place to eat. Went last night and couldn't get in unless I wanted to wait 2 hours. A good problem for a restaurant to have. We wish them the best of luck. Would like to see a Web Page to see menu, hours in operation, etc.

My girlfriends and I (8 of us) dined at the Garage Grille last night (12/16/12) and just loved it. We were impressed by the trendy and casual setting. Clean, good food and great service. We'll be back! Sandy L.
