Good Morning, Northville, From President Theodore Roosevelt Reenactor
You can catch Guy Snyder at Mill Race Village Sunday.
It was three years ago that Livonia resident Guy Snyder began his impersonation of President Theodore Roosevelt at the Victorian Festival parade.
This year, Snyder will give two speeches portraying the nation's 26th president at Mill Race Village on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
"I have done a lot of community theater acting," Snyder said. "It's been a long time since I've been on the stage. So I took this as a golden opportunity to get into a character and portray a historic American."
Snyder has played a number of characters over the years but this is the only president he has impersonated. As a writer, Snyder said he feels a special kinship to Roosevelt who penned more than 35 books in his lifetime.
"Certainly he was the most flamboyant and active, I guess you might say, of all the presidents," he said. "I find him of humor but also profound."
