FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK
• SUSAN G. KOMEN 3-DAY FOR THE CURE
Where/When: Downtown Northville on Main St. between Center and Griswold (south side) on Friday from 7:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m.
Why Go: Practice getting out of bed early again and go cheer on the walkers! Get the whole family to wear something pink and show your support for the 3-day participants, who are raising money for breast cancer research.
Pricing: Free
Where/When: Maybury State Park from noon on Saturday to noon on Sunday
Why Go: It doesn't get more family-oriented than this. Make some campfire memories, whether you're first-time campers or old pros.
Pricing: $25 per family of four (residents); $3 for each additional camper
Where/When: Kensington Metropark on Saturday from 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. at the picnic area north of Martindale Beach
Why Go: Get a taste of colonial life without making the trek to Williamsburg. There will be crafts, demonstrations, stories, games and plenty of re-enactors.
Pricing: $5 (regular Metropark daily admission fee)
Where/When: Plymouth Historical Museum on Saturday from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Why Go: Kids can spend the day creatively immersed in Civil War history. The camp is geared towards children 6-12 but children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Pricing: $35; New or renewed family museum membership of $40 will allow two children to attend camp for free
• CASUAL T'S AT MILL RACE VILLAGE
Where/When: Mill Race Village in Northville on Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
Why Go: Come check out Model T's on the green and learn a bit about automotive history.
