In Brief: Northville School Improvements Approved, School Wins Grant
Highlights from Northville's school board meeting.
School improvements approved
Northville's Board of Education approved two improvements to two of its schools this week.
Using private donation monies, the district approved a bid from Superior Play to install playground equipment at Cooke School. There were four bidders. According to district documents, Superior Play was not the lowest bidder, at $247,160. However, the district staff committee that suggested the equipment said it appeared to be the most durable and offered the most options for the cost.
The board also approved the replacement of two boilers at Cooke School using sinking fund dollars. The total cost will be $82,165.
Amerman receives playground grant
Superintendent Mary Kay Gallagher announced that Amerman Elementary School was awarded a grant by Bank of Ann Arbor. The $10,000 award will be used to improve the school's playground equipment.
