Keep the Conversation Going with New Patch Updates
If you leave a comment on a story, you can now request follow-ups to hear what others have to say too.
Some conversations, and even debates, are just too good to end.
And at Northville Patch there's a new feature – one which we've noticed a lot of you are already using – that allows the online dialogue to keep going. It's available for every single story we publish.
At the bottom of every story you will now notice a gray bar with text that reads "Interested in a follow-up to this article?" And below that there is a button that reads, "Yes, keep me posted!"
This is helpful if you want to get the latest scoop on what others are saying about a particular issue. You'll get notifications of any comments readers make on the story sent straight to your e-mail inbox. All you need is a Patch account, which you can sign up for at the top of the page. We do not spam e-mails. You only hear from us with information you've specifically requested on the site: subscriptions to our daily or weekly newsletters, breaking news alerts or follow-ups to particular stories. You are not automatically signed up for any of the aforementioned follow-ups either. If you're unsure of how to get any of these updates, feel free to send me an e-mail at nancy.kelsey@patch.com. I'd be happy to help.
As I said in my welcome column and video, this is intended to be your news web site, Northville. This is intended to be your forum for engaging each other in discussion about the things happening in the city and township. I'm so pleased to see that the older we get, Northville Patch is about a month old now, the more people are using our comments section.
This new feature is just another way to keep the conversation going.
