Man Yells at Woman Over Parking Spot

The following information was supplied by the Northville Police Department.

A 28-year-old woman called the Northville Police at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 to report a man had intimidated her in City Parking Lot 2, which is on the corner of Wing and Main streets.

The woman said she was waiting to turn into a parking spot with her signal on. When she pulled into the spot, a male in his 40s got out of his car, yelled at her and called her a bitch, the report said.

The woman said the man had tried to take the spot before she could pull in, but that she was there waiting for the spot before he was, the report said.

She said she was scared and just wanted the police to talk to the man so he doesn't do it again, the report said.

The officer said he attempted to find the man inside the building where the woman thought he went, but the officer was unable to find him or his phone number, the report said.

Are you kidding me ? I think I would of moved from the space, smiled as I told him, "you obviously need this space more than I do, have a party." Tis the season !

I'm sorry that was this woman's experience in Northville. I hate to say it, but people here can get pretty wound up. Just yesterday I saw an incident of road rage with someone oncoming run off Sheldon Road because one of the "ragers" was passing over a double yellow line. The rage was continuing toward downtown as I turned off. Come on, people, SLOW DOWN!

Never know when you might get your tires slashed by a parking lot Nazi.
Tough price to pay for a closer parking space.

At a closer reading of the aforementioned confrontation, it is hard to believe the complete innocence of this woman. She has probably cut off others in previous incidents and probably called the cops on other men--and women. While this man was wrong to confront this woman and call her a shrew, methinks she doth protest too much!

What in the world could possibly lead you to think this woman has cut people off or reported an incident before? There is nothing like that in this story whatsoever. You said she protests too much? All she said was she wanted the police to talk to the man so he didn't do it again. I understand the Shakespeare reference, but there is no protesting whatsoever in this story.

Equal rights for women mean take care of business yourself. Police have better things to do so get over it honey. People are too lazy to walk a further 5 feet anyhow.

I can understand being frightened of a 40 year old man who is childish enough to yell over a parking space regardless of whose fault it is. She is lucky he didn't have a gun. Good for her to call the police
