Northville Parent Injured in Car Accident Near Meads Mill Middle School

The woman's car was hit by another vehicle while making a left hand turn onto Six Mile Road.

A 43-year-old Northville Township woman's vehicle was hit on Wednesday morning while she was making a left turn onto westbound Six Mile Road from Waterford Road.

According to the police report, the woman failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was ticketed. The incident occurred at about 8:10 a.m.

Northville Township Public Safety director John Werth said the woman was alone in the car. While she was seen lying on the ground, she was not thrown from her vehicle. She experienced dizziness and laid down before being taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.

The car that hit hers was driven by a 55 year-old Northville man who was driving on Six Mile Road. He was not transported for injuries, according to the report.

Werth said the woman had just dropped off her children at Meads Mill Middle School.

"Making a left turn out (of Waterford) is not advisable," he said.

Werth recommends parents use Bradner Road instead, where there is a light, to turn onto Six Mile.

Thanks for the information - certainly looked/sounded a lot worse! Thankfully nothing too bad. The accident I keep waiting to see is all of the clowns passing on the right hand shoulder rather than waiting for people to turn left into Meads Mill off 6 mile....
