Two 19-year-olds were arrested on May 10 after Northville Township police found them with multiple items that they are accused of stealing from vehicles around Silver Springs Drive.
According to police reports, a woman on the 41000 block of Leidel Court spotted the light on in her Jeep and saw two men inside. One police officer attempted to follow the footprints the men left behind. Another officer then found the men in a car near the Swan Harbour apartments.
The 19-year-old Northville resident and 19-year-old South Lyon resident may have also had the synthetic drug known as K2 in the car.
One of the men, according to the police report, admitted to stealing items from various cars and agreed to show police as many cars as he could remember from which the items were taken. He told the officer some of the items were stolen from Innsbrook Drive and some from Carriage Way. Police were able to return some of the items to their owners.
Among the items stolen were an iPod left in a cup holder, two GPS devices, a few knives, a wireless router and a Sirius satellite radio receiver.
During the booking process at the police station, police also discovered $12 in cash on one of the men. That exact amount was reported stolen earlier from a resident near the area of the incident and the cash was returned.
