Profiles: 5 Candidates Running For 3 Northville School Board Seats

The two incumbents and three other candidates tell Northville Patch about themselves.

There are several important races in the upcoming November election. But if you're a parent of a child attending Northville Public Schools, one of the most important may be the school board election.

Over the past couple of years, the board has been charged with the task of making decisions about teacher layoffs and rehires as well as privatization of bus and custodial services.

Five candidates are vying to fill three seats. The candidates – Michael Barrett, Roland Hwang, Cynthia Jankowski, Adam Phelps and Matthew Wilk – talked about class sizes, budgets and more at the candidate forum on Monday night.

They also answered a few questions posed by Northville Patch about how they'd handle budget decisions and more. To view the profiles of the candidates, click on their names below.
