Radio DJ Recovering After Being Hit By Car in Northville
According to WDIV-TV, DJ Jevon Hollywood was the pedestrian hit by a car near Seven Mile and Haggerty roads.
The pedestrian struck in an early morning accident on Thursday morning has been identified as 106.7 FM radio personality Jevon Hollywood, WDIV-TV reports.
The 34-year-old Livonia resident was walking along Seven Mile on his way back from his girlfriend's house, where he was dropped off after working at a Novi bar, Northville Township police chief John Werth said.
He added that the darkness and the rain complicated the visibility that morning. According to the press release, a Livonia driver struck Hollywood, who police say stepped into the car's path.
Hollywood sustained serious injuries and was taken to Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. Werth said the accident is still under investigation.
On the hip-hop and pop music station's Facebook page, fans are showing Hollywood support with messages of well wishes.
And on the radio station's web page, as of Friday morning, there were more than 90 comments from fans wishing the disc jockey a speedy recovery.
A Thursday post on the station's web page reads, "Right now he is in serious need of your thoughts and prayers as are his friends and family. Please comment below via Facebook to leave a thought or well-wish for Jevon."
