The Northville Community Foundation, which holds the Fourth of July Parade, has announced changes to the parade route.

The changes were approved Monday night by Northville's city council. The new route has been developed to avoid summer construction on Main and Rogers streets. It will start on Griswold Street at Northville Downs.

The parade will not go down Main Street west of Wing and will not go down Rogers to bypass road work. The Foundation asks that residents "Please tell all of your friends and neighbors."

The route for 2012 will be:

1. Griswold Street to Main Street            
2. Main Street to Wing Street            
3. Wing Street to Cady Street            
4. Cady Street to First Street            
5. First Street to Fairbrook Street           
6. Fairbrook Street back to Northville Downs
