A cozy decor at the former Solid Grounds Coffee House space in Northville Square indicates a space ideal for work meetings, afternoon study sessions or a morning pick-me-up.

The space, however, sits empty after the business closed its doors on July 4, 2011, saddening some patrons seeking a locally made caffeinated concoction.

With the space's vacancy approaching two years, visitors might wonder what will eventually occupy the space.

This is where you come in.

Tell us in the comments what you would like to see at this location. Whether it's another coffee shop or a niche retailer, you tell us what you'd like to see.

Really? You ran this a month ago...how about a story about the large parcel of land where a large housing/retail development that was supposed to be built going up for sale, essentially marking the nail in the coffin for it?

I agree about the story being run AGAIN. On a related note but somewhat off topic note, as much as I LOVE the Patch it has seemed to go down hill in the last few months in regards to fresh information. The caliber & enthusiasm for the Northville community just don't seen to be there anymore. I'll keep checking in but with diminished expectations. IMHO.

Sorry, OnThePerch - we've had a few personnel changes here in the past few months and I've only been on Northville for a couple of weeks and am still getting acquainted with local sources, so the overlap wasn't intentional! :)

If you have suggestions for future editions of this particular piece, please continue to share in the comments.

How about a meat market? A place with fresh meats and seafood. Hiller's is great but a real meat market would go along great with the coffee shops, bakery, and the bars/restaurants that are here already. Plus it could give those establishments a chance to buy local Northville goods helping promote business for all involved.
