St. Patrick's Day Crockpot Corned Beef and Cabbage Recipe

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a corned beef and cabbage recipe that is delicious and incredibly easy to make.

Five ingredients, one crockpot and a few hours of cooking time is all it takes to prepare this corned beef and cabbage recipe. With minimal preparation time, you can start this meal early in the day and enjoy a St. Patrick's Day feast by supper. Ingredients: Directions: Place brisket in a 6-quart crockpot and sprinkle with seasoning packet. Top with sliced onion, carrots and potatoes. Cover meat and vegetables with water and cook on high for four hours. Reduce heat to low. Place cabbage wedges on top of meat and vegetable mixture and cook for another four hours or until tender (cooking times may vary depending on the crock pot).  Don't have a crockpot? Passion Pit, Matt & Kim Coming to Plymouth's Compuware Arena

Indie bands to take stage Feb. 21 at Plymouth Township venue.

Pontiac-based concert promoters Crofoot have announced rock artists Passion Pit will headline a Feb. 21 concert at Plymouth Township's Compuware Arena, with special guests Matt & Kim.   Passion Pit are a critically acclaimed band perhaps best known for their hit single "Take a Walk," a song currently used in Taco Bell's Doritos Locos Tacos commercials. The band also was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 13, 2012. The band's latest album, Gossamer, was released July 20, 2012, on Frenchkiss/Columbia Records. Matt & Kim's latest album, Lightning, was released Oct. 2, 2012, on FADER Label, which features the single "Let's Go."

Ryan Gosling Casting Actors in Michigan

He will be filming "How to Catch a Monster" beginning in May in Metro Detroit.

Actor Ryan Gosling will be in town this spring to direct a film and is casting local actors for several parts. Gosling will be filming How to Catch a Monster, starring Mad Men's Christina Hendricks, beginning in May in Metro Detroit, according to WXYZ. This won't be his first movie in Michigan; he filmed The Ides of March with George Clooney in 2011 in Clawson. Auditions for Novi's Production of 'The Little Mermaid Jr.' Begin Next Week

The Novi Civic Theatre is seeking actors in first grade through college to be a part of upcoming musical production of Disney’s Little Mermaid, Jr. Auditions will be held Feb. 5 and 7 from 6-8 p.m. at the Novi Civic Center, 45175 W. 10 Mile Road between Taft and Novi Roads. For those who prefer to experience theater from behind the scenes, the production provides the opportunity to learn about costuming, lighting and sound. If cast, participants are expected to pay the $80 ($96 for non-residents) registration fee, which includes an authentic Little Mermaid, Jr. script book. This will be a competitively cast show. The Northville Art House is proud to present theseventh annual member exhibition showcasing a variety of mediums and subject matter in this all-media, non-juried members show. This exhibition was developed to showcase local talent and to say “thank you” to everyone who is supporting the growth and creativity of the arts in our community. New and experienced artists come together and show off some of their favorite works of art in this highly anticipated exhibition. Great Lakes Art Fair Seeks Artists

Artists must enter to be in the show by Feb. 10.

The Great Lakes Art Fair is seeking for artists to participate in its spring juried fine arts fair, according to a press release. This year’s event will take place on April 12-14 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The fair will feature 15 different mediums ranging from painting, photography, sculpture, fiber, 2 & 3-dimensional mixed media and specialty items.
