The outdoor patio has three new fire places.
The good weather is finally here and that means it's time for outdoor dining in Northville. The Northville Sports Den opened its renovated outdoor patio about three weeks ago and it's been filling up ever since. The biggest new addition to the patio are the three fire places. "We wanted to give people a place to wait," said Jamie Morse, event coordinator at the Sports Den. Patio diners can rest on benches along the new stone wall to gather around the fire places. They can also sit back and watch the games on two wall-mounted flat screen televisions. She said the original patio improvement plans included saving the three trees. Did you go to the weekend-long comic convention in Novi?
Motor City Comic Con, Michigan’s original comic convention, celebrated its 24th anniversary Friday to Sunday at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Attendees were absorbed into comic culture when seeing and meeting comic icons, shopping for comic merchandise and checking out what's new in the artist alley. Convention-goers saw comic characters come to life from participants of the adult and children costume contests, as well as enthusiastic fans. Were you at Comic Con? The Northville TURF CLUB and its donors are responsible for several upgrades at Tom Holzer Ford Field.
Tom Holzer Ford Field now has new lighting, a press box, multi‐sport scoreboard, audio equipment and artificial turf. All of these improvements were done through Phase I of the Northville TURF CLUB's project to update the school district's athletic stadium. The most visible work is complete, according to an email from Northville athletics, and now the TURF CLUB looks forward to completing the final phase. This year's Night for Northville fundraiser raised enough to complete the funds for Phase II.
