Amerman Elementary's third grade Brownie troop has been learning about the importance of blood donation and the ways that it helps others. They are sponsoring this year's Pint Size Hero American Red Cross Blood Drive being held at the school. Please go online to sign up for a time that you can donate blood to help save lives. Each pint of blood will save 3 lives. The Red Cross organization is holding a raffle for a $500 Visa gift card and 2 Lady Gaga concert tickets. Raffle slips will be available at the donation site. The blood drive will be held on Saturday, January 26 between 9am and 2:45pm. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, and provide a valid photo ID upon donation. Additional questions may be answered by visiting redcrossblood.org.

More About Amerman Elementary School
Located across from Hillside Middle School, Amerman is a kindergarten through fifth grade school. This school brings in gifted children from throughout the district for its magnet program. Amerman has a greenhouse and courtyard area which the faculty uses to further student enrichment in the sciences. Among other programs and feats, Amerman students research and compile some of the most detailed water quality data available on the Rouge River. It is a certified green school.
