This hike kicks off the Friends of Maybury State Park's new hike series called First Saturday Hikes at Maybury. We'll hike about 2.5 to 3 miles through the center of the park looking for winter wildlife and natural curiosities. Pace is moderate and suitable for older kids. Dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes or boots. Goes rain or shine. An optional restaurant stop afterward provides the opportunity for coffee and conversation.
Note that we will meet at the Concession building off the 8 Mile Road entrance, NOT the Beck Road entrance.

More About Maybury State Park
Maybury State Park is another of Michigan's fine collection of state parks. It features nearly 1,000 acres, with a large variety of trails and activity opportunities. The trails are each tailored specifically for horse riding, mountain biking, hiking, cross-country skiing and jogging. Rolling meadows are lined by densely wooded forests. There's even an eight acre pond for fishing. Hunting is prohibited and vehicle permits are required, so plan ahead.
