The First United Methodist Church of Northville, founded in the 1830s, was originally located in the downtown area. It moved to its present location in the 1970s. This expansive church has a large sanctuary as well as a smaller chapel. Within the same room as the chapel but on the opposite side, a comfortable seating arrangement and shelves of books invite quiet reading and reflection. A private gym doubles as a fellowship hall and is used for organized recreation such as volleyball. The church offers vocal and instrumental groups for adults and children.

There are three Sunday morning services and each has a unique presentation. The earliest takes place in the chapel and is meditative; the second and third services, held in the sanctuary, are contemporary and traditional. Sunday School is offered at 9:15 and 11:00. Two Sunday services are held during the summer months.
