That's the message the Michigan Dental Association (MDA) tries to convey to parents and children.
According to the MDA, these types of foods lead to strong, healthy teeth:
1. Fruits and vegetablesMake them half of your daily diet.
2. GrainsWhole grains are best, like oatmeal, whole wheat bread and brown rice.
3. DairyGo with low-fat or fat-free dairy. Also, try soy products.
4. Lean proteinsChoose lean beaf, chicken without skin, or fish. Eggs, beans, peas, nuts and seeds are all good protein choices, too.
