NORTHVILLE, Mich., December 4, 2013—Applebee’s Northville is kicking off the holiday season with the launch of its holiday gift card promotion. From now until January 1, 2014, guests who purchase $50 in gift cards will receive an additional $10 bonus card—a 20 percent value. TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants Marketing Manager—Applebee’s Barb Pasciak made the announcement.

An Applebee’s gift card is the perfect holiday gift for families to give as stocking stuffers or as a way to say “thank you” to deserving employees. Unlike competitor promotions, this Applebee’s bonus gift card can be used on all menu items through February 28, 2014.

“Purchasing an Applebee’s gift card is an ideal gift for anyone on your holiday shopping list,” said Pasciak. “Additionally, we also reward our guest purchasers with a special $10 bonus gift card as an extra treat for them to enjoy their favorite meal or drink and unwind during the busy holiday season at their neighborhood Applebee’s.”

From families and groups of friends to co-workers and sports fans and teams, an Applebee’s gift card provides a memorable, neighborhood, feel-good experience, featuring popular meal options that appeal to all tastes and dining styles. In addition to famous Applebee’s menu items, guests can choose other healthy food selections from the Weight Watchers and Under 550 Calories menus.

"Livonia, Mich.-based TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants" - I assume that's THE Schostak that attempted to annex the State Hospital property on 7 mile to Livonia? Great guy...remember the story? He moved some mobile homes onto the property and moved some people into the mobile homes, the told them how to vote about the Annexation. If more than 60% of the property residents (or something like that), voted in favor, it was going to pass and Livonia was going to own a piece of Northville Township, which would then become a little slice of Livonia. Yes, wonderful bunch - didn't they also try to get a divorce law passed so one of the brothers could get out of his marriage without dividing community property? And I seem to remember a loan that was going unpaid...when the bank tried to foreclose, our legislature was asked to intervene? Suffice to say I won't be going to his Applebees any time soon. If I'm wrong in these assumptions, I hope someone corrects me, this is from memory...I don't want to get it wrong.

Denise: Your memory for local events is right on. This company (Schostack Brothers) is also guilty of similar practices elsewhere. Not only do they have 65 Applebee’s Restaurants in their portfolio, they have other major holdings with 3 Del Taco, 61 Burger King and 11 Olga’s Kitchen Restaurants in Michigan. This is worth noting and you can see the locations at http://www.teamschostak.com/index.htm. I personally do not visit the locations listed on this page.

Boiling, thanks for that information. I keep an app on my phone called Buycott, and it steers me away from Koch brothers products...but I was completely unaware of the Schostack's food franchises. Now that I know, I will act accordingly. Thank you!
