NHS Cabaret, NEF's A Night for Northville & NHS Music Boosters Celebrate the Arts

High school vocalists will be "Puttin' on the Ritz" at the annual NHS Cabaret.  The curtain goes up at 6pm this Saturday March 1.  This popular event spotlights the impressive talents of small groups & soloists.  Seating is cabaret-style (up to ten people per table) in the school cafeteria.  Light refreshments will add to the sparkle of the evening.  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door.  For more information:  Kathy Svoboda at nhs2014cabaret@gmail.com

Immediately following the Cabaret, the creative spotlight shifts to "A Night for Northville" fundraiser.  From 8pm to midnight on the same evening (this Saturday March 1), the arts programs in all ten Northville Public Schools will be the focus of this benefit.  Hosts Susan and Chuck Gaidica and the Northville Educational Foundation (NEF) invite the community to Northville Square (133 West Main Street, Northville) for a free-flowing evening of music, dancing, hearty hors d'oeuvres, open bar and uninterrupted conversation.  The Gaidicas are Northville residents and longtime supporters of many facets of the arts in Northville.  Chuck Gaidica is also Director of Meteorology at Local 4 (WDIV-TV).

$70 of every $100 ticket is tax deductible, and will fund visual, vocal and instrumental arts.  Specific needs of each school will be displayed on "Giving Trees" at the event.  Attendees are encouraged to make tax deductible donations to fund a wide variety of supplies.

Purchase tickets online:  http://www.NorthvilleEdFoundation.org  Tickets can also be purchased at the NEF business office in the Board of Education Building (501 West Main Street, Room 307).  Donations to the Arts can also be made directly through the NEF.  For more information:  Jennifer Pearson at NEF@NorthvilleEdFoundation.org or 248 344 8458.

The NHS music program offers a standing ovation to the Northville community in thanks for another successful music boosters' raffle.  Proceeds of $27,700 will be shared equally between the vocal and instrumental music programs.  The seventh annual raffle was held September through December of 2013.  43% of available tickets were sold.  Ten winning tickets for cash prizes were drawn at the December 19 afterglow following the final holiday concert.  Two additional tickets were drawn for other cash prizes.  Proceeds will supplement music program funding in many ways, including the purchase of replacement instruments, choral music, printing of concert programs, and piano accompanist.
