At 7 p.m., the Novi Library will be hosting author Jean Alicia Elster. She will speak about her 2014 Michigan Notable book, "The Colored Car," which is a Young Adult historical fiction that takes place in Detroit in the 1930s. It is an emotional and compelling look on how the joys of daily life and the legacy of slavery affected children of the 1930s.
