Is This Northville Intersection Dangerous?

The intersection at Wing and Main streets has a poor reputation among Patch readers.

A Northville Patch reader saw something troubling in the city and took to the Boards to write about it.

Chuck Gelletly said he witnessed what could have been an accident last week at the intersection of Wing and Main streets in downtown Northville.

"A car that was northbound on Wing stopped at Main, then proceeded through the intersection.  A westbound car on Main screeched to a halt about three feet from the northbound car," he wrote on Patch.

Currently, drivers on Main Street have the right-of-way while drivers on Wing Street must wait until the intersection is clear. However, not all drivers are aware. Gelletly said the intersection should be a four-way stop. He also wrote that the area is difficult to cross while on Wing Street because of the limited visibility. His message: "City Council:  Please make this intersection a FOUR WAY STOP!"

Others on Patch agreed with Gelletly.

"My business is located on Wing Street and I do everything I can to avoid the intersection at Wing and Main Street," Angela Carson wrote in a comment

She said she saw a person hit by a car and at least one accident, and she hopes the city will make it a four-way stop before someone gets killed.
