Bites Nearby: An Ice Cream Favorite in Northville

A legendary Northville restaurant known for its many delicious flavors of ice cream as well as a tasty chicken dinner.

and restaurant in Northville has a long history in the community. Many people think of Guernsey for their ice cream but they are also well known for their broasted chicken dinners.

Guernsey Farms is a family-run operation which first began back in 1940. You can get scoops of ice cream and sundaes in the family style restaurant which also serves burgers and sandwiches for brunch, lunch and dinner. But there is also an ice cream counter where you can get a giant scoop of “Creme de Novi,” a mint chocolate chip local favorite, or choose from one of 48 different flavors including Butter Pecan which has won many local taste tests. There is a giant rock in front of the restaurant underneath a huge old tree that is a favorite spot for people to enjoy their ice cream outside.

There is also a store located in the same building as the restaurant that carries all their dairy products including Guernsey's chocolate milk which is so thick it tastes almost like a milk shake, and the Guernsey brand chip dip which is some of the best around.
