Bites Nearby: Rebecca's in Northville

Cozy downtown restaurant offers dining variety in a family friendly, fun atmosphere.

There are always lots of changes in the busy restaurant industry but one place in downtown Northville has been a mainstay in the community for more than ten years – at 134 North Center Street.

Rebecca's serves breakfast lunch and dinner in an eclectic, homey setting that is very family friendly. In fact on a recent visit for lunch the place was packed with lots of diners, including many Mom's and their young children. Our server told us it is a popular destination following the weekly kids' concerts or theater shows in downtown Northville. The large fish tank and toys supplied by the restaurant also help keep young hands busy waiting for a table or for their food to be served.

Atmosphere: There is barely an inch of wall space at Rebecca's that is not covered with some sort of art work or sports memorabilia. It is cozy and comfortable and there is always something to look at from the large fish tank that sits near the ice cream counter, to the model airplanes hanging from the ceiling.

Bar: No alcohol is served at Rebecca's.

Dishes sampled: Breakfast is available all day so I chose a vegetable omelet with American cheese. They didn't skimp on the cheese (which is a good thing in my opinion) and there was plenty of spinach and other vegetables which made it quite tasty. My lunch companion ordered the roast beef cheddar wrap and seemed pleased with its meatiness and the spicy bistro sauce ordered on the side. We also had a basket of sweet potato fries but preferred to eat them with the bistro sauce rather than the brown sugar glaze sauce they were served with.

Food and dining options: Since they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner there are many food choices on the menu at Rebecca's. In addition to omelets there are a wide assortment of breakfast options. There are many salads on the menu as well as several dozen sandwich choices. They also have Mexican food dishes, fish and chips and coney island hot dogs. They also serve ice cream by the scoop or dish.

Parking: There is parking on the street in front of the restaurant or in a nearby garage.

Handicap accessible: Yes

Price: Many sandwiches cost around $5, fish and chips are $7.99, an order of banana walnut pancakes are $6.29.

Payments accepted: Visa, Master Card and Discover are accepted here.

Reservations: Not accepted but walks in welcome and take out is available.

Hours: Monday -Saturday 7:30am-8:00pm

Sunday 7:30am-6:00pm

Phone number: 248-348-2660
