Garage Restaurant Supports Northville High Marching Band

Garage will hold a fundraiser for new Northville High School marching band uniforms during the Northville parade on July 4.

Not only does downtown Northville’s Garage Grill and Fuel Bar stay busy serving customers with its American grill menu and outdoor patio seating, it also plans to serve the Northville High School marching band with a fundraiser on July 4.

During the Northville parade from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., the Garage will be teaming up with the marching band for a “Strike Up the Band” in the Garage parking lot to raise money for new band uniforms.

Co-owner Mark Evasic said, “Northville High School has a beautiful new football field and amenities, however, the approximately 250-person marching band needs new uniforms, as the current ones are 25 years old.  The fundraiser will help the band in their efforts towards wearing new uniforms this coming season.”

Because their children attended Northville High School, owners Mark and Bill Evasic see this as an opportunity to give back to the school and help the band.  They will do so by selling an assortment of refreshments during the parade.

“Available to purchase will be coffee, cold drinks, and breakfast snacks.  The band also intends to sell the old band uniforms as memorabilia to raise money,” Evasic said.

To ensure a successful day, the Garage held meetings with band director Mike Rumbell and band member families to plan what will happen next week.

“A ‘Strike Up the Band’ poster was produced, featuring the 1930 Model A, which is home to the Garage.  This is being used for advertising the event,” said Evasic.

Although Garage has hosted a few other fundraising events, this will be the first for the marching band.  Garage participated and supplied desserts for the football field fundraiser earlier this year and will partake in many more community fundraisers in the future.

Evasic said, “Garage is part of the Northville community and is proud to be involved in events that benefit local causes and concerns.”
