Northville, Plymouth Show Increasing Home Values

The communities are the only ones in Wayne County gaining traction in the housing market.

Northville, Northville Township and Plymouth Township are the only communities in Wayne County that saw increasing home values in 2011, according to a report by The Detroit News.

The three communities gained between 2.52 and 4.89 percent.

The City of Plymouth was the only community in the county that showed no increase or decrease, the report said.

According to a report on property values released Monday, property values dropped an average of 6.12 percent in Wayne County overall last year. The city of Melvindale saw the largest decrease with decrease of 19.26 percent in 2011.

The townships of Canton, Huron, Brownstown and Grosse Ile show signs of bottoming out due to low decreases last year, the report said.
