How did your business get started? A few parents came to me to express concern about the gaps in learning English Language Arts in school. They wanted their children to have consistency in their learning reading analysis, writing skills, grammar and vocabulary that was advanced and progressive so they could better prepare for ACT/SAT exams and college. I began to teach these few children and suddenly my student enrollment grew by word of mouth-- middle to high school students at first. Then more and more parents requested me to provide the same quality and thorough preparation to elementary students. Thus evolved Swayam Learning!
What services does your business provide? We offer semester-based classes with interactive teaching in:
- English Language Arts (grades 2-11)
- Physics for Middle School, High School, and AP Physics
- Public Speaking for Middle-High School
- Business Communication for Adults
- Painting in Watercolor/Pastel for ages 9+
- Painting and Drawing for Adults
- Math- grades 3-10
- English- grades 2-11
- Business Communication- Adults
- Physics
What's your most popular service? Our curriculum in English Language Arts that teaches and weaves writing skills, reading skills, critical thinking, vocabulary and grammar together to help students understand how each component support each other.
Why did you choose the location that you did? I was raised in Northville, went through the Northville school system, and know that students here typically take their learning seriously. I wanted to offer my services back to this wonderful community to help students get ahead of the ballgame, challenge their minds, and advance their oral and written skills for their own self-development and education.
What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know? We focus on accelerated, advanced and progressive curriculum in Reading Comprehension, Critical Thinking, Writing Skills, Oral Presentations, and Vocabulary but with that we also help students learn how the skills they learn apply across the curriculum in other subjects. In this way, they also develop research skills, learn about history and sociology, and myths/folklore to better understand their diverse world.
