Shop 'Til You Drop at Girls' Night Out

Downtown Northville, with its streets full of local shops and restaurants, is a great place to visit at any time. But if you're looking for a special occasion, try visiting downtown Northville Friday during Girls' Night Out.

The sidewalks will be packed with pedestrians visiting the 52 businesses participating in Girls' Night Out.

"I didn't realize there were 52 stores and businesses in this part of Northville," said Dan Ferrara, member of the Northville Central Business Association, which puts on the event.

Girls' Night Out is a great time to discover downtown Northville, said Christine Van Dam, owner of Van Dam’s Boutique and co-president of the Northville Central Business Association, in a press release.

She said:

"I think people who haven’t spent a lot of time in Northville will be pleasantly surprised to find great clothing boutiques, art galleries, wine shops, jewelry stores and home furnishings.  We also have over 15 cafes, restaurants and bars.  Almost all of our shops and restaurants are privately owned small businesses that feature unique offerings you don’t find in the malls or other towns."

Downtown Northville's compact design lets shoppers walk comfortably and easily from store to store, even in wet or cold weather. 

Shoppers can spend the evening, from 5 to 9 p.m., viewing new merchandise and participating in special offers and giveaways. Ferrara said there are about $8,000 worth of giveaways.
