10 Cited on Sept. 9 For Trespassing at Former Northville Psychiatric Hospital

Trespassers cited at Seven Mile property

  • Three people were cited for trespassing at the former Northville Psychiatric Hospital on Seven Mile Road on Sept. 9, according to township police reports. Police say the trespassers hid from them and later flagged down another officer. "The subjects looked sweaty and looked as though they had been running," according to the report. "The subjects stated they were looking for ghosts and got scared when they saw the police." They are due to appear in the 35th District Court later this month.
  • Five people were cited on Sept. 6 for trespassing at the former Northville Psychiatric Hospital on Seven Mile Road, according to township police reports. The teens – from Brighton, Pinckney, Hartland and Whitmore Lake – were spotted by an officer during surveillance. According to the report, they told police they heard about the site from friends and explored the tunnels. They are due to appear in the 35th District Court later this month.
  • Two Canton men were cited for trespassing at the Seven Mile property on Sept. 9. They told police they wanted to explore the property. They are due to appear in the 35th District Court later this month.
  •  Five Waterford and Walled Lake residents were cited for trespassing on Sept. 9 at around 2 a.m., according to township police reports. They are due to appear in the 35th District Court later this month.

Woman cited for shoplifting

A 29-year-old Farmington woman was given a retail fraud citation after Kohl's store security said she stole from the juniors department on Sept. 7, according to township police reports.

Store security told police that she took items into the fitting room and hid them in her purse.

She was arrested, posted a $100 cash bond and was released. She is due to appear in the 35th District Court later this month.

Wow, glad to see that the Northville Police are out solving REAL crimes! We should all sleep well tonight, knowing that they are keeping us safe from dangerous, hardened criminals such as these curious people.
