5 Things You Should Know Today: Feb. 20

From events to gas prices to the weather, we've gathered a list of information that is important to Northville today.

  1. Northville weather: The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the area beginning Sunday afternoon. Snow, freezing rain, sleet and ice are on the way. The high temperature is expected to be near 28 degrees. Less than a 0.1 of an inch of ice is possible along with 1-3 inches of snow, according to the NWS.  In the evening, the freezing rain and sleet are expected to continue. The temperature is likely to rise to about 29 degrees by 11 p.m. Less that one inch of snow and less than half an inch of ice accumulation are possible Sunday night, according to the NWS.
  2. The lowest gas price in the Northville area, as of Sunday night, according to DetroitGasPrices.com via GasBuddy.com, is $3.09 per gallon. That price is available at the station at Eight Mile and Haggerty roads and at the Sunoco station at Five Mile and Haggerty roads, according to the web site. 
  3. The Village Theatre at Cherry Hill is showing an Welcome to Idlewild: The Black Eden of Michigan. Admission is free and the exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
