Northville celebrated Halloween with warm treats, skeletons and — of course — candy.
Hundreds filled the streets of downtown Northville Wednesday night with their costumes and candy buckets. Firefighters and volunteers at the city of Northville Fire Department passed out apple cider, donuts and fresh popcorn to the long lines of people waiting in the cold.
Fire Chief Jim Allen said they had been passing out goodies on Halloween since 1965 or 1966.
It was Northville District Library's first time participating in the event. Joan Hennessy, library clerk, and Anne Mannisto, assistant director, passed out candy and chocolate treats to those who visited their table.
