Accessing Irish Records from North America

Guest Speaker:  Dick Doherty.   This lecture focuses on Ireland’s major records, and cost-effective methods for accessing them from North America. Included are recent Irish repository initiatives that make indexes and images available online (both free and fee).  Ireland records accessible through the Family History Library are also discussed. Dick lectures in the U.S., Canada and Ireland and is a past-president of three genealogical societies.  Dick is also a delegate to the Federation of Genealogical Societies and the Michigan Genealogical Council.   

The public is invited to attend, free of charge, the meeting of the Northville Genealogical Society. The 1:15 p.m. meeting will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at the Northville District Library, 212 West Cady, in Northville.

Individual help on genealogy is offered in the Local History Room at the Northville District Library on Monday afternoons 1-3 p.m. and also by appointment. For more information contact Mary Hazlett at 734-459-5493.
