Historic Home Lecture Series: Introduction to Historic Preservation

Is it historic or just old?  The Introduction to Historic Preservation lecture explores the background of the preservation movement in America and explains the terminology and regulations that architects and historians use in determining a building's historical significance.

This is the first in a series of lectures exploring the subject of historic buildings.  We will discuss what is an historic building and how to care for them.  The series is intended for those who own an old building or home, are considering purchasing such a building or are just interested in historic preservation.

This lecture series is sponsored by the Northville Historical Society and will be presented by Daniel Schneider, a local architect who specializes in the renovation of historic buildings.
