Tax Records & Genealogy
Guest Speaker: Al Wakenhut, a professional genealogist and Northville native will take us on a journey through the many aspects of tax records. Taxes have been levied on real estate, personal property and income by local, regional and national governments throughout the world. In the U.S., you can often find real estate and personal property taxpayer lists in county courthouses or state archives. Please join us to learn more about this underutilized form of genealogical research.
The public is invited to attend, free of charge, the meeting of the Northville Genealogical Society. The 1:15 p.m. meeting will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Northville District Library, 212 West Cady, in Northville.
Individual help on genealogy is offered in the Local History Room at the Northville District Library on Monday afternoons 1-3 p.m. and also by appointment. For more information contact Mary Hazlett at 734-459-5493.
