The first of the presidential debates on Wednesday night is sure to generate a lot of discussion.
The 90-minute debate will be televised on various networks at 9 p.m. live from Denver.
If you're hoping to catch the debate, between President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney, there are a few options for viewing it with local Democrats or Republicans in or near Northville.
Northville Democratic Club viewing party
Where: Northville Sports Den in Northville Square mall on Cady Street.
When: Gathering begins at 8 p.m.
Cost: Free, donations are welcome.
What: The Northville Democratic Club, which has 238 members, will offer free pizza and salad to debate viewers. A cash bar will also be open. The club is trying to reach its membership goal of 250 paid members by election day, Nov. 6, according to a press release. Membership dues are $25 for adults, $15 for seniors over 65 and $5 for full-time students.
Michigan 11th Congressional District Republicans viewing party
Where: One Under Bar & Grill banquet facility in Livonia on Five Mile Road, west of Levan Road.
When: Doors open at 8 p.m.
What: The 11th Congressional District Republican Committee groups, which serves Northville, will gather in Livonia to watch the debate. Snacks and cash bar offered.
