Northville Patch's 2011 Holiday Guide

Looking for holiday events around Northville? Check out this list.

Step into just about any store and you can't miss it – the holidays are just around the corner.

  • Where: The parade will begin on Cady Street near the . It will proceed north on Wing Street before heading west on Main Street. Then it will head north on Linden Street and east on Dunlap Street, through Hutton. It will continue west on Main Street and head down Center Street toward Cady.
  • When: Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: Lights. Floats. Santa. The 's parade will also include refreshments and one-on-one time for kids with the jolly man in red.

Holiday Movie at the Marquis

  • Where: The on Main Street
  • When: Nov. 18 at 8 p.m.
  • Pricing: Free, tickets available at
  • Why Go: The theatre will be showing the Christmas classic Holiday Inn. The movie stars the legendary Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.

  • Where: Northville's town square
  • When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, and noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: The e is bringing vendors to downtown Northville who will be selling holiday-themed goods.

  • Where: Tour of several local houses. Tickets can be purchased at at 117 E. Main St. in Northville, the Northville Chamber of Commerce at 195 S Main St., and Razzamatazz at 470 Forest Ave. in Plymouth.
  • When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Nov. 18 and on Nov. 19.
  • Pricing: Tickets are limited, and $20 in advance and $25 at the doo
  • Why Go: In need of holiday decorating ideas? This tour will showcase some ideas for homes, as completed by local decorators.

A Red Ryder Christmas Story

  • Where:
  • When: 1-4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. (Exhibit runs Nov. 9 through Dec. 31.)
  • Pricing: $5 for adults, and $2 for ages 6-17
  • Why Go: The Plymouth Historical Museum has a slice of nostalgia for patrons, as its A Red Ryder Christmas Story exhibit opens Wednesday. full of vignettes from the 1983 movie A Christmas Story (the infamous leg lamp, for example), plus items from the time period. It's a major exhibit!
