Red Wings' Mike Babcock, Ken Holland Volunteer as Bell Ringers in Northville

The Detroit Red Wings team up Friday for the Salvation Army.

Detroit Red Wings Coach Mike Babcock, General Manager Ken Holland and players will volunteer for one night only for the eighth consecutive “Red Wings for Red Kettles."

They will serve as bell ringers Friday at four metro Detroit retail locations, continuing a Red Kettle Campaign tradition to see who can raise the most money to help those in need.

Babcock and Holland along with Major Mark Anderson, general secretary and metro Detroit area commander of The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division, will be volunteering in Northville to help the nonprofit reach its $8.75 million 2013 Red Kettle Campaign goal.

Find them from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Hiller’s Market in Northville, 425 North Center St. Autographs are available for a suggested $10 donation.
