After beating Pinckney Red 15-3 Sunday morning, The Cubs played the Howell Warriors in their final pool play game. At stake for both teams was a spot in the championship. With the Cubs holding a 1-0 lead after two innings, the Warriors put three runs on the board in the top half of the third.

Down 4-1 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, the Cubs offense came to life, scoring nine runs over the next two innings. Eric Rice went the distance on the mound to keep the game close before the Cubs offensive explosion resulted in a 10-4 win.

The Cubs fell flat in their third game Sunday as the temperatures continued to fall on the cold and misty day in Howell. Pinckney Black played flawlessly to win the championship.
