Happy New Year from the Main Street League

This is always a good time of year to reflect on the good, the great, the awesome and maybe the not so good happenings from the past year. Whether you resolve to be healthier, break a bad habit, learn a new skill, or take an important risk, they are all important steps to living a better life.

Looking back at this past year, the Main Street League has focused on making lives better for those in the Northville community and it has been AMAZING. In just a short year, a powerful group of women, led by Northville’s own Lauren Romeo and Jennifer Mullan, have been successful in supporting the needs of the Northville Civic Concern by organizing donations through a diaper drive, Kickball tournament, Backpack drive, Wine Event, and Pie drive. It has bettered the lives of those in need, and has also been rewarding for its members… and this group will not be stopping anytime soon.

What can you do to help?  When looking forward and planning for your own self-improvement, think about how your life can impact others.  This year, resolve to do something good for someone who cannot thank you. It can be as simple as donating unwanted clothes, food, your time, money, or even your expertise.  Whether big or small, it will have a profound impact on somebody.  Think bigger than just your donation. Think what would happen if everyone donated the 1 hour you spent, the $1 or two you gave, the box of diapers you provided…  Everything you do, whether big or small, matters.  Gather your family or a group of friends and pledge something you can all do together. Keep your eye out for Main Street League events where you can contribute your time and/or resources.  This year think BIG!!!   If you would like to learn more about the Main Street League, please email mainstreetleague@gmail.com.
