3 Vehicles Reported Stolen Around Northville on Sept. 5

3 vehicles reported stolen around Northville

An SUV parked in the Northville city lot at W. Dunlap and N. Wing streets was reported stolen on Sept. 9, according to city police reports. Glass was found near the spot where the Plymouth resident's Dodge Durango was parked.

The SUV was later seen on surveillance cameras at Meadowbrook Country Club, where another vehicle was reported stolen, according to the police report. Nearby, at the AMC Livonia on Haggerty and Seven Mile roads, another vehicle was reported stolen.

Accused Home Depot shoplifter arrested

A 26-year-old Northville man was arrested on charges of shoplifting from Home Depot on Sept. 8, according to township police reports.

Store security told township police that the man took about $30 in plumbing equipment from the store without paying. He was arrested and is due to appear in the 35th District Court later this month.

Police find syringe in accused Kroger shoplifter's car

Northville Township police say they found a syringe in the car of a man who was arrested on shoplifting charges, after he asked them to retrieve his cell phone from the car.

Kroger employees told police that the 41-year-old Southfield man was seen walking out of Kroger with about $200 in beer and other alcohol in a cart on Spet. 10. According to the police report, the man was stopped by Kroger employees and admitted to taking the alcohol to resell it.

Township police arrested him, and he asked an officer to get his cell phone out of his car for him, according to the report. The officer agreed and found a hypodermic syringe in the center console.

According to the report, the man told the officer: "I wanted to tell you so you wouldn't get stabbed, but I have not shot up in a couple weeks."

The man was charged with an additional misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested, posted a $160 bond and was released. He is due to appear in the 35th District Court in late September.
