8 People Cited For Trespassing at Former Northville Psychiatric Hospital

The following information was supplied by Northville Township's Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two groups of out-of-town people were arrested over the weekend for trespassing at the former Northville Regional Psychiatric Hospital on 7 Mile Road.

In one case, two people – a 36-year-old Canton man and a 41-year-old Detroit man – were arrested on outstanding, unrelated warrants on Oct. 28.

An officer spotted the men and one attempted to give his brother's name in order to avoid being arrested on his outstanding warrants, according to police reports.

One was turned over to Westland and another to Wayne County law enforcement. They were also cited for trespassing on the property.

On Oct. 26, six teens from Eastpointe and Warren were cited for trespassing.

An officer patrolling the property noticed them at about 9 p.m.

According to township police, monitoring of the property increases at this time of the year to match increased trespassing incidents.
